Organizing a concert during Holy Week is no small feat. It demands meticulous planning and significant financial investment. However, for Mayor Rocky D. Ilagan, enhancing the allure of Puerto Galera’s White Beach in the realm of tourism is a priority worth every effort.
When tasked with assembling a lineup of performers, the Promotion and Marketing team and the Tourism Office faced challenges. Their initial choices proved unavailable or financially out of reach. Undeterred, they secured the immensely popular December Avenue Band, a testament to their commitment to delivering top-tier entertainment.
Initially planning to feature both Moira and December Avenue, logistical constraints necessitated adjustments. Negotiations with December Avenue led to a favorable agreement, albeit with additional expenses for their specific sound and lighting requirements, facilitated by DM Force Sounds and Lights. Despite the costs exceeding 2 million pesos, the investment promised an unforgettable experience.
Generosity shone through with Mr. Orven Rabino’s donation of four front acts, organized by SyPhil Entertainment Production, enriching the concert’s lineup and atmosphere. Mayor Ilagan’s dedication to promoting local talent was evident, as he designated March 30 for homegrown bands to foster community spirit and pride.
The concert’s resounding success, drawing over 15,000 attendees, surpassed the previous year’s turnout, earning gratitude from White Beach and Puerto Galera business owners. However, logistical challenges arose as network disruptions caused by overwhelming usage and traffic congestion led to extended travel times post-concert.
Nevertheless, the sight of the vast crowd stretching from the stage to Finesse Residencia underscored the event’s magnitude and impact. Mayor Ilagan’s commitment to future endeavors was evident as he pledged an even grander event for the following year.
